MGA REACHES AGREEMENT WITH OAKLEY

06/09/2022

Founded in 2006, the Malta Golf Association acts as the governing body for the sport of golf in Malta. This non-profit organisation is run by golfers for golfers, and its membership is mainly open to amateur golfers who are members of either a golf club or golf society within the geographical area of the association.

A good pair of sunglasses is a vital piece of equipment to protect the eyes and help one see better on the golf course. Oakley’s new sunglasses, made exclusively for golfers, are extremely light, fit comfortably and most importantly, the lenses are effective against bright harsh sunlight.

In a statement given by the MGA; “We are pleased to announce our agreement with OAKLEY to supply the kit for the golfing team participating in the eighth edition of the European Team Shield Championship organised by the European Golf Association.”

Malta’s National team for this tournament was composed of Andy Borg, Ruud Critien, JJ Micallef and Laurens Schulze Doering. As part of the collaboration they sported exclusive Oakley branded apparel, presented by Class Optical, for the ETSC in Hungary which took place between the 28th and the 30th of July.

The ETSC was first held in 2015 when Malta achieved fifth place, since then the Maltese team have returned home with three silver medals and four bronze, including this year's silver which they obtained after losing the final to Greece after what turned out to be a tight affair.

Please join us in congratulating Malta’s National team on a successful Championship!

Oakley is represented in Malta by Class Optical Limited and sold at leading opticians. A vast number of models are also available with Oakley prescription lenses.
